is the third ECM release from Vijay Iyer
. The Jazz pianist is accompanied by bassist Stephan Crump and drummer Marcus Gilmore; the trio delivers a masterful album, filled with fascinating rythms and imaginative ideas wilst firmly rooted in a jazz context.
Iyer's compositions are interspersed with works by Thelonius Monk, John Coltrane and Billy Strayhorn. The trio even pay tribute to Detroit techno pioneer Robert Hood.
