Combustication – Medeski, Martin and Wood

Combustication (1998) is the fifth album of jazz trio Medeski Martin & Wood; the band's first for the iconic label Blue Note label and a first collaboration with producer Scott Harding.

The album marks a style shift for MMW, with a deeper funk groove and a notable infusion of rhythmic influences from hip-hop and a variety of other styles. Also featured are long-time collaborator Jason (DJ Logic) Kibler and a unique instrumental interpretation of Sly & The Family Stone's Everyday People.
