Finding Gabriel – Brad Mehldau

Although Brad Mehldau is best known as a jazz composer and improviser, he has produced several albums that go beyond the realm of classical jazz, including Finding Gabriel; an experimental, engaging and totally harmonious crossroads where different musical sounds - jazz, jazz rock, prog rock, electronic, contemporary -  and voices, integrated as musical instruments, intersect.

A stunning album by Brad Meldhau, both for the compositions and the artists who enrich this fascinating work: trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire, violinist Sara Caswell, saxophonist Joel Frahm, drummer Mark Guiliana (both former collaborators of Mehldau) and singers Becca Stevens, Kurt Elling and Gabriel Kahane.
