The first phase of Kerry Leimer's recorded work began in 1972 with the production of the cassette Grey Cows and culminated in 1983 with the release of the album Imposed Order.
Although the work seemed to stop after the release of Imposed Order, this composer, whose music could be described as somewhere between ambient and Fourth World fusion, continued to record and experiment in the period between that album and his active return in 2002 with The Listening Room, released on his Palace of Lights label. Imposed Absence includes 10 of these recordings, never released before this re-release.
The release of Imposed Order / Imposed Absence highlights a set of early works by K. Leimer, which were remastered by Taylor Deupree, the man behind the 12k label.
