Lonely Shadows – Dominik Wania

Lonely Shadows (2020 - ECM) is a first solo album for pianist Dominik Wania, after a remarkable and critically acclaimed contribution on two albums of the quartet led by the passionate alto saxophonist Maciej Obara Quartet, one of the most exciting groups on the contemporary jazz scene.  

Lonely Shadows reveals a pianist of great originality. Wania’s sensitive and nuanced playing informed from his classical training is in perfect balance with the free expression of improvisation from his jazz influences. Dominik Wania is certainly one of the most distinctive pianists of his generation.

The album was recorded at the Auditorio Stelio Molo studio in Lugano, Switzerland and masterfully produced by Manfred Eicher.
