My Vinyl Weighs a Ton, Peanut Butter Wolf’s first studio album, was initially released in 1999; it became the most acclaimed and successful release of the early years of Stones Throw Records which PBW had founded three years earlier.

Peanut Butter Wolf, an accomplished musician himself and world renowned DJ and producer, is responsible for bringing artists like Dam-Funk, Madlib and Mayer Hawthorne to our attention. He's worked with Deltron 3030, Kool Keith, Quasimoto, Blackalicious, Madvillain, and Aloe Blacc, and the Los Angeles label is also responsible for releasing groundbreaking albums by JDilla, Madlib, Madvillain (a collaboration between Madlib and MF Doom).
