With ethereal vocals, Julianna Barwick transports us into a transcendent and hypnotic sonic universe.

Barwick's musical and artistic approach is singular; Nepenthe was built around contemplative soundscapes where music and voices intertwine.

The richness of the arrangements and instrumentation can be attributed to contributions by Sigur Rós' (Kveikur) Alex Somers, who produced the album, members of múm and the quartet Amiina (all from Iceland).
