Sunset Mission - Bohren & Der Club of Gore

Much less dark than some of their previous albums, Sunset Mission (2000) confirms Bohren & Der Club of Gore's turn towards an introspective ambient jazz. The arrival of Christoph Clöser in 1997 (replacing Reiner Henseleit) brings a jazz accent to the band's music, as the band's orientation until then had been more doom-oriented.

Sunset Mission is a sinuous exploration of ambient jazz. The musical trajectories that Sunset Mission's pieces create are atmospheric, nocturnal panoramas that illustrate Bohren's assertive penchant for cinematic, exploratory ambient jazz.
