The Call Within (2020) is the fourth recording of inspired pianist and composer Tigran Hamasyan for the Nonesuch label; ten original compositions merging jazz, prog rock and contemporary music.
This astonishing album features Evan Marien (electric bass), Arthur Hnatek (drums), along with some special guests, guitarist Tosin Abasi on the Armenian prog tune “Vortէx” and vocalist Areni Agbabian and cellist Artyom Manukyan on “Our Film”.
In addition to attracting recognition from critics and winning numerous awards for his music, Hamasyan was praised by prominent fellow pianists Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Brad Mehldau.
